GEORGE CLOONEY AND FATHER NICK CLOONEY TAKE ‘A JOURNEY TO DARFUR,’ JANUARY 15 ONLY ON AMERICANLIFE TV NETWORKSM
WASHINGTON, DC AmericanLife TV NetworkSM (www.americanlifetv.com), the only independent network devoted to the Baby Boomer generation, will mark the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday with the premiere of a hard-hitting news documentary, A Journey to Darfur - featuring reporter Nick Clooney and his son George Clooney on location in the genocide-ravaged region of Darfur, Sudan. The half-hour special will premiere Monday, January 15, 2007 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

In the documentary, George Clooney and Nick Clooney risk their own lives to visit various refugee camps - and George talks one-on-one with actual witnesses to the horrors, which have seen more 400,000 people die and millions more be displaced. We were there for nine days, George says at one point in the film, and there wasnt a minute I didnt think we were going to get killed.

The stark evidence gathered by the Clooneys during their trip led Nick to conclude, The people of Darfur are balanced on a razors edge, but if the legendary know-how and goodwill of the American people are unleashed, these brave Darfuris will go home to live their lives out in peace. And you for once in our lifetime will have actually stopped a genocide.

Baby boomers remain as socially conscious today as they have throughout their adult lives, and the Darfur issue is one that truly resonates with this generation, said Larry Meli, president and COO of AmericanLife TV. In addition, Martin Luther King III has called Darfur an issue that his father would have cared passionately about, so were proud to have his support as we honor the holiday by bringing this revealing look at an international tragedy to our viewers.
